Sir Michael Caine

Michael Caine hijo de un portero del mercado de pescados en Rotherhithe, Londres. Salió de la escuela a los 15 y tomó una serie de trabajos de la clase obrera antes de servir a el ejército británico en Corea durante la guerra de Koraen, donde vio combate. En su vuelta a Inglaterra gravitó hacia el teatro y consiguió un trabajo como encargado de etapa auxiliar. Adoptó el nombre de Caine por consejo de su agente, tomándolo "de un marquetin del motín de Caine". En los años que siguieron trabajó en más de 100 dramas de la televisión, con las compañías de reparto de Inglaterra y eventuales varios. Aunque "Zulu" era un éxito importante, era el papel de Harry Palmer en ‘’El archivo de Ipcress’’ y su papel del título como ‘’Alfie ‘’ que hizo Caine una estrella de la primera magnitud. Personificó a nueva casta de agentes en mediados de los 60s en Inglaterra, el bloque de la clase obrera con cristales y un acento de la clase media baja. Sin embargo, después de estelarizar en algunas películas excelentes, particularmente en los años 60 parecía a menudo adquirir papeles en películas malas, para entonces en el dinero él ponía ya condiciones, ordenaba simplemente. Había algunas gemas entre la escoria, y dio un magnifica mancuerna frente a Sean Connery en ‘’El hombre que sería Rey’’ y dio vuelta en un funcionamiento sólido como un coronel alemán en ‘’El águila ha aterrizado’’ ‘’Educando a Rita’’ y en ‘’Hannah y a sus hermanas’’ (para cuáles él ganó su primer Oscar) en epocas actuales lo mismo le da actuar para el cine comercial que ser pretencioso en cine para festivales, es el nuevo Alfred oficial para Batman y trabaja actualmente en ‘’The Children of Men’’ bajo las ordenes de Alfonso Cuarón.
